Upcoming Workshops!

MIC General Meeting

To kick off the year, we would like to hold an introductory meeting for the executive to introduce ourselves to all new and returning members. We'll take the opportunity to describe our events and plans for the upcoming year.

Resume/Cover Letter and Technical Interview Workshops

With the September recruitment season for graduating students up and running, the MIC is providing workshops to help students work through the demanding process.

The Resume and Cover Letter Workshop helps students create a package geared directly toward financial-industry positions. As the industry is very detail-oriented and demands specific requirements, we want to make sure that students are emphasizing only the characteristics that will be most impressive to recruiters. In order to get your foot in the door, your application package needs to provide a strong first impression - we hope to help by clarifying the acceptable application format and common errors that should be avoided.

The Technical Interview Workshop will provide guidance for the inevitable technical portion of any finance interview. As this is where most students struggle, this workshop is likely the most important. Students who have successfully been through the recruiting process and have landed jobs will go over in detail what interviewers are looking for and how to answer specific technical questions that are commonly asked. We will walk through the main topics always covered in the technical interview, including the infamous accounting question.
